Let me share a story about the first time I read this 30 years ago. Riding the subway home in Toronto at rush hour when i hit the passages about Gussie giving out prizes at Market Snodsbury. It got me laughing so hard that I had tears streaming down my cheeks and had to put the book down to compose myself. Each time I opened it and got another two paragraphs deeper the same thing happened. After the fourth time in a matter of five minutes pretty much everyone on the packed train was looking at me with many smiles and stifled giggles. As I was trying to catch my breath I held the book up and panned it around so everyone could read the jacket cover. Some knowing nods of approval and some taking note. Nothing was said. A very fond memory indeed!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.Droll, urbane and very entertaining.By Edward Alexander GersterSo nice to be able to read these again. The kindle formatting seems great, and no issues with spelling or dropped text like I had with other electronic device formats. The humor holds up depicting a very different era. Droll, urbane and very entertaining. Made me search out the Hugh Laurie Steven Fry episodes of "Jeeves and Wooster" that were done in the early 1990's. Jeeves Wooster Complete CollectionHighly recommended6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. How did I NOT knowBy R. WilsonI love Bertie and I especially love him when he is having a conversation with Jeeves. Though I love the way his mind works in general and can't get enough of him. My only problem is (and this prob. has to do with the era) that people dont say what they are thinking and every small matter becomes a thing. If everyone just said things straight off then this book would not exist bc they would have no problems. Though I have to say this story was to funny. How did I NOT know about the Jeeves series This was my 1st, and I look forward to the many more. I recommend reading this book in between two heavy books, as a comic relief.
