I was delighted to find the novella Forget Me Not. According to the Author Notes, this novella was written after all three books in the series was completed, yet this novella fits the plot line between books 1 and 2. I am amazed how the author is able to write a novella after the fact without disrupting established plot lines. Doing that takes a lot of thought and care. Forget Me Not introduces China Town, has themes of judgmental thoughts, forgiveness, and the role of a church. It was fun seeing old characters again from Blowing on Dandelions. I bought this one because I've read the first two books in the Love Blossoms in Oregon series and author Miralee Ferrell has a way of drawing you into the story. To me, this novella was like reading a regular novel! In this story issues such as caring for the down-trodden (everybody has their own calling in life and it's just as important as yours), Unforgiveness (it only hurts you and colors the way you see things). This book is a great addition to the series! The character played such an important role in the first novel of this series that it was good to see him receive his own happy ending. Julia is a very relatable character. Like she does in this story, sometimes we can be so focused on our own calling in life that it is hard to remember that someone else might be called to something different.Storyline: It seems that novellas often have the problem of too much story or not quite enough. That certainly was not a problem with this one. I enjoyed the history of Chinatown that the author brought in and Seth and Julia had some unresolved issues from their past together that needed to be sorted out.My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this novella. It made for a quick and pleasant afternoon read. Like I mentioned, there is the perfect amount of story for the length. I certainly was not bored with it!See all 82 customer reviews...
